Proper size is critical when it comes to pallets. Returnable pallets are made small to protect the pallet, not the fruit. So while the pallet company’s product may get a few more turns, the fruit grower’s product suffers damage. We don’t like those odds.
The Prima Pallet is designed to be just a smidge larger than typical pallets. Not so much larger that they won’t work with your standard size racks and forklifts — they will, no problem. But just large enough to create a small protective barrier around the fruit boxes. That way, in the event of an impact, the pallet absorbs it instead of the fruit. Smart? Maybe. Effective? Absolutely.
