Payroll Manager

We need a Payroll Manager to work in our corporate office in Fresno. The Payroll Manager is responsible for the accuracy and completeness of all payroll activity. This position is responsible for processing hourly employee payroll accurately and timely to ensure hourly employees are paid appropriately.

Expectations

  • Process payroll weekly for up to 6,000 plant and field employees during harvest season
  • Act as the first point of contact for all payroll related matters
  • Ensure that the payroll processing company's system contains correct and accurate information on all hourly employees
  • Communicate actively with Human Resources to maintain accurate records for employees
  • Perform a variety of payroll reports, reconciliations and analyses using advanced Excel formulas
  • Collaborate with other managers to process multiple inquiries
  • Prepare W-2s
  • Maintain a variety of sensitive, electronic, and physical files
  • Manage temporary payroll staff during harvest season
  • Administer hourly employees' vacation and bonus eligibility and payments
  • Manage the third-party payroll provider relationship
  • Manage the annual workers' compensation audit with the Assistant Controller
  • Participate in key initiatives such as business process redesign, cost savings initiatives, and system development projects
  • Other duties as required

Qualifications

  • BA/BS in Accounting or Finance required
  • Minimum of 5 years of payroll experience at a managerial level

Skills

  • Solid knowledge of payroll tax and labor law compliance
  • Excellent analytical, verbal and written communication skills
  • Superior demonstrated PC skills (Excel, Access)
  • Previous ERP software experience
  • Ability to manage large amounts of data
  • Ability to lead and mentor staff
  • Attention to detail is a must
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, multi-entity environment
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred

Plant Electrician

We need a motivated, self-driven Plant Electrician to work in Reedley. This position is responsible for preventative maintenance and trouble shooting of an industrial electrical system as well as all other physical systems associated with a packing facility such as electrical, water, and general building maintenance and repair.

Expectations

  • Execute daily electric system maintenance to meet or exceed Company standards
  • Work with staff to evaluate data and coordinate process control changes
  • Does maintenance of process equipment and facilities infrastructure
  • Performs regulatory and process control testing and inspections and review procedures and quality control to insure compliance with all applicable standards and regulations
  • Prepare for and respond to electric system emergencies
  • Collaborates in maintenance and construction projects
  • Identifies equipment repair and improvement needs
  • Request equipment replacement parts and supplies
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience as a journeyman electrician in an industrial setting
  • In evaluating candidates for this position, the Company may consider a combination of education, training and experience which provides the necessary knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the duties of the position.

Skills

  • Basic knowledge and experience trouble-shooting zone accumulation conveyor, wells, and pumps.
  • Have welding and fabricating experience.
  • Proficiency with PLC's and other industrial controls
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics, logic diagrams
  • Ability to troubleshoot and repair electrical/electronic components and industrial components
  • Proficiency with industrial wiring, installation of conduit, starters, motors (single and multiphase)
  • Knowledge of National Electric Code (NEC) and OSHA regulations
  • Knowledge of feeders, power circuits, limit switches, proximity switches, pressure switches, flow switches, pushbuttons, solenoids, encoders and lockout/tagout
  • Conversational Spanish is a plus.

Working Conditions

  • This position reports to our Engineering Manager.
  • You may have to work 12-14 hours a day and sometimes 6-days a week during our busy season (May-October). Being available 24X7 to react to emergencies during busy season is also expected.
  • Local travel is required

Sales Accounting Analyst

We need a motivated, self-driven Sales Accounting Analyst to work in Fresno, California to perform accounting duties in support of the sales cycle from orders to cash receipts.

Expectations

  • Recalculate and perform audits of sales orders
  • Generate, print and mail invoices
  • Maintain customer records in Famous (the sales system of record) and supporting files in Sales Office
  • Research and resolve any billing adjustments, ensuring that the proper approvals and procedures are followed
  • Assist in writing up minor short pays and sales adjustments  Investigate and resolve customer and Sales Department queries
  • Process accounts payable related to sales activities, primarily purchased produce, which includes issuing purchase orders, obtaining approvals, reconciling activity and coordinating payment with A/P
  • Assist AP staff with processing general accounts payable, document matching, scanning and filing
  • Other duties as required

Qualifications

  • AA or equivalent experience preferred
  • 2+ years Accounting, A/R or Sales support experience required
  • Agricultural experience desired

Farm Labor Contractor Auditor

We need a motivated, self-driven Farm Labor Contractor (“FLC”) Auditor to work in Fresno, California to verify the accuracy of FLC time sheets, inputs from a variety of systems and processes, and communicate audit results to the G/L Accountant.

Expectations

  • Audit FLC time sheets and invoices – incomplete or inaccurate time sheets and/or invoices are returned to FLC for revision
  • Maintain database of audit results of time sheets
  • Compare time sheets to the daily schedules to ensure completeness
  • Code and approve time sheets
  • Enter time sheet data into an Excel spreadsheet
  • Compare time sheets to the corresponding invoice from FLC
  • Reconcile FLC payroll registers to amounts paid
  • Maintain source data files
  • Other duties as required

Qualifications

  • Bilingual (English and Spanish) required
  • AA or equivalent experience preferred
  • 2+ years Accounting, P/R experience desired
  • Agricultural experience desired

Refrigeration Technician

We need a motivated, self-driven Refrigeration Technician to work in Reedley. This position is responsible for preventative maintenance and trouble shooting of an industrial ammonia refrigeration system (3,000 TR, twelve compressors totaling 3,475 HP and 300,000 square feet) as well as all other physical systems associated with a cold storage facility such as electrical, water and general building maintenance and repair.

Expectations

  • Execute daily refrigeration system maintenance to meet or exceed Company standards for storing fresh produce.
  • Work with staff to evaluate data and coordinate process control changes.
  • Does maintenance of process equipment and facilities infrastructure.
  • Performs regulatory and process control testing and inspections and review procedures and quality control to insure compliance with all applicable standards and regulations.
  • Prepare for and respond to ammonia refrigeration system emergencies.
  • Collaborates in maintenance and construction projects.
  • Identifies equipment repair and improvement needs.
  • Request equipment replacement parts, chemicals and supplies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • 5 years of related experience required
  • RETA or IIAR Certificates or technical school training desired

Skills

  • Thorough knowledge of industrial ammonia refrigeration system design, maintenance, and operation.
  • Ability to utilize consultation and advisory data and information such as plant operations reports and policies, engineering reports, State and Local regulations and standards, purchase orders, non-routine email correspondence, OSHA regulations, computer software, operating manuals and organizational analysis.
  • Skilled at performing basic algebra, addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division; and to calculate percentages and decimals.
  • Ability to exercise the judgment, decisiveness, and creativity required in situations involving the direction, control and planning of an entire project, multiple projects or unexpected situations.
  • Ability to recognize and identify similarities or differences between characteristics of colors, shapes and sounds associated with job-related objects, materials and tasks.
  • Ability to work under generally safe cold storage conditions where exposure to environmental factors such as toxic agents, noise, electrical currents and temperature may cause some discomfort and pose some risk of injury.
  • Ability to communicate concisely, tactfully and courteously orally and in writing in English with Company personnel.
  • Conversational Spanish is a plus.

Working Conditions

  • Available 24X7 during storage season in order to insure that product is always handled and stored under optimum conditions.
  • You may have to work 12-14 hours a day and sometimes 6-days a week during our busy season (May-October).
  • This position reports to our Cold Storage Superintendent.
